The Atari ST is a home/personal computer that was released by Atari Corporation in 1985 and commercially available from that summer into the early 1990s. It was primarily a competitor to the Apple Macintosh and the Commodore Amiga systems. The name "ST" is derived from the capabilities of the Motorola MC68000 processor upon which the original Atari line was based. The MC68000 uses a Sixteen bit data bus with a Thirty-two bit address bus. The mouse was certainly eye-catching, but using it for a long periods proved uncomfortable.
