The Commodore joystick that was released with the C64 was an original design compared to their previous one for VIC20 that was almost a copy of the well known Atari joystick. It has the fire button in the center so that it could be used by left-handed people as well. This is one of the sticks that appear in the nightmares of older gamers. Unresponsive, uncomfortable and featuring an awful fire button. They use a metal contact that got pushed down on the print as you move the stick and these broke quite frequently. They had to be opened and fixed quite often.
